i am sooooo pregnant

So I was watching American Idol for few minutes tonight because Derek wasn't home. (he refuses to watch) It was some big fundraiser show. Il Divo had just started their song when I turned it on and I was bawling within seconds. Then a few minutes later I was at it again with Carrie Underwood. Don't worry, Rascal Flats did nothing for me, but I had to turn it off when I heard Josh Groban was coming up with an African boys choir. These pregnant emotions, so random. I really don't like watching all the sad kids stuff because it's so overwhelming, and not just for pregnant ladies. All I feel like I can do right now is love my kid(s) and do my best to provide for them. Yes provide all the physical and temporal things, but even more the emotional and learning things too. It makes me so happy when Alli folds her arms for prayers or tries to say Jesus when she looks at pictures. And sure she gets excited when I turn on cartoon some days, but when I say "outside" or "walk" it's a whole different kind of excitement, because she gets to explore the world.

Ok, enough of that cheesy. Alli is loving the weather right now and so am I. I feel like I talk about the weather soooo much on here, and that is so lame to me. Is that really what I feel compelled to talk about? But, when I'm cooped up all winter for the worst winter ever (and I was raised by weather obsessed dad) then yes, that is all there is to talk about sometimes. So I was outside chatting with my neighbor last night and Alli was playing with the other kids until almost 9 o'clock and loving it. (I was really loving it because Susie was doing all the ch ashing around...thank you! She might not be so quick with the chasing in the coming months) I love passing the time outside rather than in. The house doesn't get messy when you're not in it!

So a few weeks ago after my last ultrasound my due date got moved up officially a little for various reasons (maybe because I'm so huge) which is always nice to take off 10 days. So it's May 5th, just 10 more days. But, at the dr yesterday, he said it doesn't look like I'll be having this baby in the next week. Which is good I guess. Don't really want another 3 week early 5 pound baby who doesn't eat like Alli. So I'll just keep waddling around and waiting. Derek is done his last final tomorrow so that will be nice to not have to worry about having a baby in the middle of studing or taking a test. But, he is going to Red Deer for work on the 1-3 of May so we better hold off until he's back from there too!

late easter...

Here's the easter picture we got done of Alli. It's a little blurry cause I just scanned it in. And it looks like it's stretched out if you know what I mean, like I don't think her face is that round. But she does look chubby in this picture and I thought maybe she was getting there, but she got her 18 month shots the other day and she's 10th percentile for height and weight. So we're slowly moving up from the 3rd percentile at her birhtday!

Well, I've been a bit of a slacker on the blog. I've been busy just staying organized. Keeping up with everything in case the baby comes early. Plus, I've been moving a little slower than I would like. I think Alli's allergies are back with watery eyes and runny nose and the saddest cough ever, but she's a trooper. So I've just been having fun giving her lots of attention before my time will be split. Alli is such a good baby and we have so much fun together everyday. She just cracks me up. Oh dear, I just called her a baby! I guess that won't last for long. She started going to nusery and of course LOVES it. Her first day Derek said she walked in like she owned the place and was stealing toys from the big kids right away. When it was time to leave, of course she wanted to stay. Such a social little girl since the very beginning really.

Here's Alli on her first day of nusery in her new easter dress. I'm just too tired to make her pose cute, and too impatient to wait for a smile sometimes!

spring time

We went to the Muttart Conservatory on Monday. It was a fun little outing since I've never been. Alli really liked it too. She didn't spend much time in the stroller. It was way more fun to run around and look at all the flowers and plants. And of course she wasn't much for posing.

I'm really excited about this little group I put together. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not much for cooking. I don't hate it, I don't love it. The same goes for grocery shopping. So I had this idea to get together with some friends and trade recipes. Then Rhonda had this great idea to set it up on a blog. The plan is to put up a recipe once a week, then you pick your recipes for the week, make a list of groceries and you're set! This is the first week and I have made GOOD suppers 4 days in a row. Derek is in heaven, and even better Alli has loved every single one of them. I don't know about the rest of the group, but I am soooo excited about this.

However, the other night, I was so into making my fancy new supper when I looked up it was too late. I found this...

She has been so good at feeding herself lately. Especially yogurt cause it sticks to the spoon. I had to shower her off first and then give her a bath. At least she had fun!

One more thing. My sisinlaw Rhonda put a few pictures on her photoblog of my big ol belly and Alli. So go check them out along with the rest of her amazing pictures.

We are keeping busy around here. Derek is done classes and getting ready for finals. I am just trying to stay on top of things for 4 more weeks when life will most likely go CRAZY! If only I could find something in me somewhere to finish going through the disaster that is Alli's room. I really need some uninteruppted time to go through clothes and all the stuff in there. Of course the best time would be her nap time, but she is sleeping in there then so...who knows.
Happy Friday the 13th tomorrow everybody!

happy easter

Here's my attempt at some easter pictures today...

And yes, another chin wound. This time she fell into the couch, kinda like a rugburn I guess. At least you can't really see the 2 bruises on her forehead.

This is Alli's face for about half a second when I first pull out the camera. She says CHEEEEEE! and then it's gone. No inbetween smiles.

She kept those sweet bunny ears on for awhile, and I nicely cut them out of all these pictures, oops. The only way I could get her to kinda sit still for pictures was with a treat, hence she has cookie shoved in her face in every picture.

We took her to the mall today and they were doing some cheap little easter pictures, and I was a sucker and did it. They had a little setup with a real bunny, it was pretty cute. So I'll guess I'll have a bunch of easter pictures when easter is over!

We haven't and aren't doing anything fun for easter. It's so close to finals for Derek which means studying I guess. And as for me, part of me is soooo done being pregnant, I don't think I can handle gaining any more weight. The other part of is soooo not ready for all the joys of a new baby. But everything is going good with the baby. I had another ultrasound this week just to check everything out and make sure the stuff that wrong with Alli wasn't going on with this one. I know the measurements can be off, but according to the ultrasound he is already bigger than when Alli was born. But I could have told them that since I'm WAY bigger now than when she was born and I still have 5 weeks to go! But with my habits lately, I deserve every pound I get, if you know what I mean. That's about it. I'll be spending the rest of my Saturday night doing my primary lesson for tomorrow eating candy and watching a movie. So exciting.

Hope everyone is having a fun easter long weekend, especially Derek's family. Most of them are down visiting his sister in California for the week.

picture post

Have a few pictures from the week at home. We had so much fun. Alli and cousin Lucy had soooo much together playing. They were good friends, Lucy was always trying to hold Alli's hand and give her hugs. Alli wasn't so into it, she is more and more like her mother all the time! And Alden had his work cut out for him protecting his toys form the 2 girls. The weather was only ok, that dang southern alberta wind can really ruin a nice day. It's green down there and no snow. The buds were coming and the tulips too. The snow is almost gone here, but it did snow again this morning so winter is not over yet. Is the end in sight?

We had the power out for like 6 hours one morning so we were not so productive that day. It threw us off so the quilts are not quite done...it's only been a year since Susie and I started ours so whats another month or two! It was great to just hang out with the girls, my dad was out of town for half the time so Alden was the lone man. We just stayed up late chatting (and not renting movies right girls!) and Rhonda and I were up most nights with our restless kiddies, but it was worth it right Rhonda!!! Such a good week. Grandma had a great time with he kids. They LOVED the wheel barrow, it gave Grandma quite the workout with all 3 in there!

Well, I don't feel like writing any more so here's a few pictures from a week or 2 ago. I finally caught her in the act. She's been climbing into the toy basket lately and sitting and playing in it.

still here!

I guess it's been awhile since I checked in. We've been busy with this and that. And I just keep on gaining the pounds which makes me moves slower and slower. By the end of the day, I'm spent. But by the end of the day, this little baby keeps on kicking, he is BUSY. As of right now, he is breech, so I'm hoping his busyness will turn him the right way.

Alli is busy as ever. Still begging to go play outside everyday, and we can most days lately. She is copying us in every way, and it's fun. She carried the ipod around and listened to it and danced for a good half hour. Oh, and did you notice that my little girl looks somewhat grown up in these pictures? Well, maybe it is the pigtails! I'll have to get a good picture of them one of these days.

Derek had the day off school on Wednesday. So I went to my Dr.'s appointment and Derek took Alli out. I came home and did some cleaning. You forget home much you can get done in an hour without a child interrupting every other minute. Then I went for a walk, and went to my pedicure that Derek set up for me (with my SLIGHT hints of course) even went to the mall for a while. Came home to supper on the table! It was a great day. But I was happy to come home to my family.

Well that's all for now. I'm sooo looking forward to going to Raymond on Monday. Susie and Rhonda and I are gonna have a fun week with my mom. Rhonda is gonna take preggo pictures of me! And we are going to do quilts and stuff.

ouch!

Alli was running on the sidewalk into the house yesterday after church and took a little tumble. She was pretty tough about the whole thing. I thought it split and was going to bruise, but it's really nothing.
After her nap, Alli was just not herself. She usually wakes up happy and plays around in the crib for a while. Today she woke up crying, the same way she did at 7:30 this morning.(after which I got some gooood cuddling in from a girl who never cuddles for more than a minute) She kept crying and touching her mouth. She wanted to cuddle, but was definitely squirming in pain. I thought maybe it was her chin again or something. So it kept up for a while and I looked in her mouth. I could barely see, but I felt 2 teeth coming in on top. Finally some more teeth! She has 7 and hasn't had a new one break through since October or November.

Happy Birthday to Susie yesterday! My dad was up for meetings and took us all out to dinner, yummmmy...cheesecake, sorry you couldn't be there mom.

And of course grampa made sure Alli had way too much sugar.

Alli found her sunglasses and likes to wear them around. She puts them on and says "cheeeee" (cheese) even if I don't have the camera out. Such a little movie star.
