we didn't have any plans anyway

Ahhh, Family Day.

We were hangin out his morning, trying to decide if we were going to go swimming, or to a movie in the afternoon for our family day adventure. While we were deciding, a dance party just kinda up and happened in the kitchen. Because, well, what else do you do on family day?

Things got a little crazy. Derek was twirling around with the kids and Alli's hand slipped out of his. She fell face first on the hardwood.

It was bleeding and gaping, and Alli does NOT deal well with blood at all, not even close. She may get her whimpyness from her mom, but her fear of blood is unknown. I'm a nurse, bring on the blood, and Derek, well he watched both my c-sections closer than he watched me.

SO, we decided to take her to the hospital. It kept opening up and gushing so easily being on her lip and all. Grandpa is in Mexico, but I think he's to much of a softie to give his own grankid stitches anyway. She got 2 little stitches, and she wasn't the quietest kid but she held her head still...with only slight effort by me.

We went to the movie. (Plenty of time in the day still. I love Raymond. We were in and out in an hour and 30 mins was waiting for the freezing to kick in.) She was happy that she could still eat popcorn. I think a couple of her teeth are slightly loose, that could be a whole different story.

So here's a warning, be careful with those impromptu dance party's, family day or not!

Poor Alli. She will have a fat lip for a few days atleast!

How come I didn't know that both your kids were c-sections?

ours was definetly more low key than yours. I have a slight idea of how hysterical she would have been. If it has to happen to someones kids can it be the one who have nurses for moms and live 2mins from the hospital. please not me, i'm wimpy.

Oh ya, we know all about that here...not the dance party/lip bleeding, but a 2 yr old chasing his mom down the hall and smashing into a door and splittign his lip. No stitches on that, luckily, but we know all about holding a child still in the ER...not fun.

Aww poor pretty girl! I had to go to the nursing station this weekend too. You know...because I gently helped Isaiah up and next thing you know his hand is KILLING him and he's crying for hours. He can wrestle and fall down stairs and hit his head on corners....but I help him sit up and we end up in the nursing station.

Poor Alli...sheesh she had it WAY worse!

Just sayin'.

Oh yikes... I remember a particular "dance party" at at the Davidson's where a simular incident ended with a broken arm and a tooth that ended up dying and had to be replaced more than a few times!!!
Tell Derek it's o.k, Mark not only takes out his own kids, but random ward members kids too!
Give Ali a little hug from me and tell her to wear a helmet with a face shield for the next family day dance party!!

How awful. Glad she was still able to eat popcorn. Now that would have been tragic :) Yes, the Raymond ER is so nice that you don't have to wait forever. Since I work in x-ray at Lethbridge I hear all the time how long people have had to wait just to get a simple x-ray, and they are right, they do have to wait a long time. The perks of small towns I guess. Couple of weeks ago we were all on our bed being a little crazy, wrestling, dancing to the music (even Jeff) and Bryce ended up jumping off the bed and I think he sprained his ankle. So yes, dance party's can get a little crazy I know first hand. But oh how fun they are.

Poor Alli, hope it doesn't it turn off from dancing. Tell Alli thanks for the valentine! Totally agree with your last post...our 1st V-day while dating was cream of chicken sandwiches (don't ask). I feel the same way about anniversaries too.
