some pics

We went to my aunt and uncle's for dinner a couple weeks ago. It was fun to get together with some cousins. Such a nice night out and smelled like spring, I love it.

My cousin Micheal and his wife Trina had twins at the end of March. James was bigger than Nolan and not far behind Danae, even though he does look smaller in the picture. Trina is so great with those two. I can't imagine having twins. My hat goes off to all the mothers who do it, amazing really.

My cousin Melissa is a preschool teacher. She is sooooo great with kids, and has enough toys, books, games etc to run it in her basement. Alli had so much fun playing with her in the yard and with all the toys.

Alli can never turn down a piano, she loooves to "play."

Life is good and busy in a not busy way these days, if you know what I mean. Derek is gone a lot with work, but Susie and Brooke are visiting me regularly. I think I would go crazy if they didn't. My ward has been spoiling us with dinners, I haven't had to cook yet. It's soooo nice to not have to worry about that and messing up the kitchen. Had the 2 week check up for James yesterday, 8 lbs 13 oz, he is growing fast. Alli is out of control in love with Shrek. Derek took her to the movie last week, her first, and she loved it. Everyday she finds the dvd and brings it to me or tries to put it in. I have no idea how or why she got so obssesed. We were at a friends house on Friday, and we wanted to put in a movie for the kids while we played games. The older girl wanted to let Alli choose. They had a shelf of about 20 kids dvds, and what a surprise, out of all of them Alli found Shrek.

Rhonda put up some pictures from James's photo shoot. They are soooooo good. I love them. I've been looking at them about every day since she put them up. You MUST go check them out here. Thank you Rhonda, I LOVE them.

Note I reput the pictures up on the post below.

bye bye grandma

So, grandma left today. We are a little sad about it, but she will be coming up next weekend for the blessing, as will Dereks parents, so I won't have to go it alone for too long. Had such a good time having her around. We got out and kept just busy enough so that I won't go crazy being kinda house bound for a bit now. I got spoiled with naps and no cooking or cleaning and a little shopping. She will be missed. THANK YOU MAMA! She got her payment of lots of cuddles and a 3am viewing of Shrek 2 with Alli, don't ask.

Rhonda and the kids were up for a couple days too. We had plans to go to the zoo on Wednesday, but it was waaaay to cold. Instead we went to West Ed Mall and went in maybe 2 stores. Not a shopping trip. But we did manage to find the cutest matching dresses for Alli and Lucy. It was fun to go and see stuff. The kids loved it. I love how they can be entertained be the simplest things. The petting zoo wasn't there, so we went to the big pet store, then saw the sea lions and flamingos...

went in the big whale mouth...

rode on the merry go round...great picture...when we had to get off Alli cried

Alli ate only ketchup for lunch...
seriously, she would dip everything in at and suck off the ketchup. She kept handing me more packets to open.

and James slept the WHOLE time.

Rhonda took pictures of James while she was here and I can't wait to see how they turn out. I'll post some when I get them.

Well, I got both the kids bathed and in bed and Derek just got home. Phew, I made it through my first half day alone! I only lifted Alli about 10 times too many (and am sore from it) but I really don't know how not to lift her. I guess I won't be going out very much over the next week or 2 without some help. I hate that. Now I better go to bed and get some sleep, I forgot how unpredictable babies can be at night...and during the day to I guess.

he's here!

James Wilson Baldry

Well, I finally got up the energy to put up a post on the blog.
James decided 2 am on Monday morning was a good time to arrive. He didn't make it easy on me either.(as if having a baby is ever easy on anyone!) I went into labor on Sunday night, but because of positioning and a distressed baby I ended up having another c-section. I was kinda bitter at the time, but I'm over it because I have healthy beautiful baby. He was 8lbs 7oz and almost 21 inches long, and came out with a few battle wounds. Some bruises and a cut from the scalpel...don't ask...and some scabs on his head from the internal monitor. But as you can see he's a good looking kid, and we love him to bits!

Alli is taking quite a liking to him already. She likes to hold him and kiss him, and she points out and says ears and eyes and nose. I think she will be a good helper. Right now my mom is my best helper. I'm sooo glad she is here. My house is always clean, Alli always has a playmate and James is never without a cuddle.

So here is our first picture of our family of four! I don't even beleive it when I say it. The reality hasn't set in at all yet. It's going to be a busy summer for us. I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures to post along the way. Ok I can't sit here any longer, I hope this all made sense!

waiting...

So for some reason I decided to take a picture of what going on 4 days overdue looks like. I don't know why I am smiling so big. Don't bother giving me any advice, I'm trying it all already (minus the castor oil, I'm not that desperate yet) and it is obviously not working. I've been having cool showers all week and loving it because I'm just hot all the time. I'm so glad I'm not like this in July!

It's been really nice out the last few days, and Alli is addicted. I sure hope my energy returns after I have the baby so I can chase her around more. I guess I'll just be a whole different kind of tired... The grass is getting so green here and there is little buds on the trees. I LOVE summer so much. Every time I go out in the early morning or late evening I crave to go running. So I hope I'll be able to bend over to tie up my shoes soon!

regressing?

I've heard of kids regressing when a new sibling is born. I guess I'm really in for it if Alli is doing it already and the baby isn't even here yet! My cousin Rashelle brought over the swing and bouncy chair she had borrowed for Melia today. The first thing Alli did was climb right into the swing.

It was good timing to bring back the chair too because I babysat a 5 month old baby for a few hours in the afternoon. (and I'm babysitting a 6 week old baby tomorrow ahhh, we'll see how that goes...) He sat in the chair for a while which was good because I realized I was not in much of a condition to cuddle a baby with my belly in the way. So for the rest of the day Alli was climbing in and out of the chair. Then she got her bunny and soother and just layed there for a while. I hope she gets it out of her system now.

Melia is almost 8 months, so they didn't exactly play together. It was more teaching Alli to share and not scratch Melia's face off. I couldn't get the 2 girls to smile and look at the same time of course. So at least they are both looking

We were busy on the weekend cleaning the house. I did the no fun wash walls and baseboards kind of things and I FINALLY got Alli's room under control. It's super cute. I even saved some wall space for pictures to hang of the baby even though they probably won't be sharing a room for a while. I'm all ready to have this baby. The house is still clean from Friday (yay!) I have all the laundry done (which won't last I guess) Derek gets back from Red Deer tonight. And we even went on a date last Saturday. So any time now would be great, but there's no sign of him coming yet.

And here's the little troublemaker, always finding something to get into. I knew it was way to quiet...

Alli is going to miss her pillow.
